Meet Us

Betsy Gorman, Associate Broker

I am a native Alexandrian who grew up with real estate always in the background. From a very young age, I tagged along with my dad to do minor repairs on investment properties and went on appointments with Bette when the babysitter was unavailable.

However, before succumbing to the inevitable lure of real estate, I tried a different course that took me to Georgetown University for undergraduate studies and then to Austin, Texas to attend law school. After graduating with honors from the University of Texas School of Law, I clerked for a federal judge and worked for five years in the tax section of a large D.C. law firm. In 2005, I decided to leave the active practice of law and join Bette in her real estate business. We had always known we had the same strong work ethic, attention to detail and passion for real estate. By working together, we have discovered we truly complement each other strengths and together work smarter to exceed our clients’ expectations.

My two sons and I live in Old Town. In my spare time, I enjoy being outside and am always looking forward to my next hike or bike ride.

Bette Gorman, Certified Residential Specialist

I originally hail from Bangor, Maine and spent my childhood in Knoxville, Tennessee (go Vols!). After graduating from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, I moved to Alexandria in 1963 when Tysons Corner was (literally) a corner where two country roads intersected. I taught Spanish at the now defunct Groveton High School in Alexandria and then started my real estate career in 1968. Over the past 45+ years, I have personally witnessed the explosive growth of Northern Virginia into the special place it is today.

During my long career in real estate estate, I have consistently been a Top Producer and a member of the $10 Million + Club of the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors. In 2012, I was designated an Emeritus Member of the National Association of Realtors in recognition of my distinguished career.

When I am not selling real estate, I am an active participant in the Alexandria adult rowing program, UT alumni organizations, an enthusiastic movie fan with the Sunday Cinema Club and an avid international traveller usually planning my next adventure.
