“Alexandria” includes not only the City of Alexandria but the wonderful neighborhoods south of the City in the southern part of Fairfax County. These neighborhoods have an Alexandria mailing address but their residents enjoy the services and amenities of Fairfax County, the largest county in Virginia. The scope of the Fairfax County part of Alexandria reaches roughly from I-495 (to the north), the Potomac River (to the east), Ft. Belvoir (to the south) and I-95 (to the west). It is a vibrant area bustling with restaurants and retail, schools, mature neighborhoods with large trees and newer construction.
