Belle Haven is a gracious mature community of houses built primarily in the 1930s and 40s that sits on hills over looking the Belle Haven Country Club with views of the Potomac River. It is the historic site of Fort Willard, an important Federal Civil War outpost. Today, Belle Haven is a quiet community of historic homes that blend in seamlessly with new construction. In recent decades, newer communities such as Belle Haven on the Green (a townhome community), Belle Haven Terrace and Belle Haven Estates have been developed adjacent to Belle Haven.
